A community-written description on how to create your own Emblem Vault.

Requirements

WalletConnect — What is WalletConnect? And What wallets are supported by WalletConnect?

OR

MetaMask — It’s the standard crypto wallet app and browser extension connecting you to blockchain-based applications. Here’s where you can learn more and install MetaMask.

AND

Circuits of Value tokens — currently available on Uniswap, STEX, Resfinex, and Hoo.com

AND

Native blockchain tokens — Emblem Vaults are now supported on both Ethereum and Matic Network. You may choose to create an Emblem Vault on either network.

Step-by-step

  1. Install one of the above supported wallets
  2. Connect your wallet to your browser of choice
  3. Decide on which blockchain you wish to create you Emblem Vault
  4. Ensure that you have at least 300 COVAL in your wallet
  5. Set your wallet to the native blockchain you have chosen
  6. Ensure that you have enough of the native token (ETH or MATIC) to pay gas fees for contract execution and approvals
  7. Visit the Circuits of Value website, and click “Launch App”
  8. You are now directed to the landing page Emblem.Finance NOTE: If your wallet is already signed-in on your browser, then you will see you public address populated as depicted below
  9. Choose to make your Emblem Vault ‘Public’ or ‘Private
  10. Public: Contents of the vault are publicly visible through marketplaces like Opensea/Rarible and through the Emblem.Finance site
  11. Private: You will create a password which only where only the owner of the Emblem Vault can view the contents, which include public BTC and ETH addresses. The password encrypts/decrypts this data.
  12. Click ‘Next’
  13. Enter a ‘Title’ for your Emblem Vault
  14. Remember: It’s a publicly viewable NFT, so anyone can view the Title and Image associated with the Emblem Vault. (Only the contents are hidden in ‘Private’ mode.)
  15. Enter a ‘Description’ for your Emblem Vault
  16. Remember: The Description is considered its contents, so anyone can view it if you have chosen the ‘Public’ feature for your vault. If ‘Private’ is chosen, then only the owner of the Emblem Vault can see it’s Description and contents after entering the ‘Private’ associated password.
  17. Click ‘Next’
  18. Choose an image to be displayed as your Emblem Vault logo. NOTE: This is not required. If no image is selected, the default 2D Coval icon will be displayed as your image
  19. Click ‘Do it!’ if all fields have been entered correctly. NOTE: It will check that you have enough Coval to fulfill the request
  20. The page will begin to interact with a contract to generate an encrypted and sharded private key
  21. When completed successfully, your wallet will ask you to confirm the transaction to create your Emblem Vault — click ‘Confirm’ in your wallet. NOTE: The gas fees associated with this transaction are the final fees associated with creating your vault. It will also spend 300 Coval from your wallet
  22. Wait for the transaction to be completed
  23. When you transaction is completed, you will be taken to the page to view your vault. Check out an example Emblem Vault. NOTE: your vault is now viewable on all marketplaces that support the native NFT

Congratulations, you have now created your very own Emblem Vault powered by Coval!
